I’ve wanted to do another one of these posts for a while but I’ve never really had a reason to. This weekend I am off on a short trip to Nottingham. I know what you are thinking; why the fuck would you go Nottingham? Well I’ve briefly spoke about it before but in short I’m going to meet what I’d class as one of my closest friends. I’m sure you can find out about that if you look hard enough.
Anyway I’ve pulled together some of the most important stuff I’m taking down with me. I am going down for two nights so I don’t actually have a lot of time down there but I’m still really looking forward to it. The most important item I am taking with me has got to be my Trainerspotter bag. It’s a fairly small bag but I have taken it everywhere with me Paris/London/Leeds just as an example. I think I like it so much because it’s small. It means I’m not lugging around this massive rucksack or suitcase around. I like to pack pretty light anyway usually only taking a couple of changes of clothes with me so this bag usually does the trick.
You probably know I love photography and taking pictures so that’s why I will have 3 cameras on this journey. As always I have got my favourite a disposable, you just can’t go wrong with one in my opinion. Secondly I will have my phone (not in the pictures because it was taking the pictures) It’s not the best camera in the world but I like it. I use it almost every day just and I get pretty good photos from it so im sure I will get a few when I’m away. Lastly my friend Martin has let me borrow his Nikon D5100. I’ve never owned a dlsr but always wanted to so it’s like baby steps for me. I thought it was a good time to as I have had numerous people compliment my photography and well the camera on my phone just isn’t cutting it any more eh.
Now I’ve never been a big reader. Literally last year I read 3 books and that was me forcing myself to do it. It looks like I’m going through that faze again. The past month couple of months I have been reading a few books and surprisingly I am enjoying it. Currently I am reading The Martian and it is the first book I have actually got excited about. I heard about it on the Tested podcast a few weeks ago and as soon as I got the chance I bought it. I’m going to have a few hours to kill in the airport and on the plane so hopefully I can get this finished. Lately I have also been taking this blogging thing more seriously. I bought this little black Molskine notebook to jot down ideas or plan out new posts. I used to do it all on my phone but the whole format just annoyed me. Since I got it I don’t leave the house without it, it’s constantly in my bag.
Lastly there is my beanie. I love this beanie to bits as it’s one of the only things I have left from my old clothing company Disorder Apparel. It’s not something I talk about a lot but then again it was only a sort of “pop up” shop to keep me busy. This beanie is always in my bag you can’t go wrong with it, especially with a quiff. As soon as it’s a bit wet or windy your hair is just a mess so it makes sense to just shove on a hat.
Well that’s my travel essentials. I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what some of your travel essentials are. I’ve got some exciting stuff coming up in the next few weeks so keep a look out for that.
