Lack of Travel.

Traveling is one of my favourite things to do. Although I don’t do it often. Money and lack of friends willing to come with me is the main drawback. I mean I would happily go away for a few days myself but it’s just not the same is it? Sharing the experience is the best part of it. I want to Travel. I want to get away. Just escape. I like the feeling of being lost in a city you’ve never been in, that’s the lifestyle for me. I always thought I couldn’t go anywhere without my laptop and various other personal belongings but I can. I don’t need them. I’ve never needed them, Just fooled myself into thinking I did. As long as I have my phone and a camera I will be happy for a few days.

There are so many places I want to see and so many things I want to do. I just want to see the world and embrace it. I know too many people that never do anything. they don’t want to see the world. They are happy enough staying in their home town the whole of their lives and that just doesn’t seem right to me. I suppose everybody is different right? But for me as soon as I get the chance to go on a trip or somewhere new I am instantly up for it. That’s the reason I travelled to Paris to see Arctic Monkeys last year, or even going to London to see The Babyshambles. Those were too good opportunities to pass up and I had an amazing time.

Unfortunately I don’t have any trips abroad planned but I am going to a couple of new places in the country. I literally just booked a train down to Newcastle for the weekend at the start of September so I can spend time with a good friend that I met when I was down in London a few weeks back.  It will be good I’ve never actually had the chance to wander around Newcastle for a bit that should be dead fun. Apart from that I am going down to Kendal For Kendal Calling. A couple of my good friends are in a band and Tim Burgess from the Charlatans has his own stage down there and asked them to play so that’s really cool. Me being me I stupidly offered to drive down and well I’ve never driven that far before. I’ve always wanted to have a road trip and well I guess this is a start.

Me and my best friend Paula have also spoke about going back down to London later in the year. But then I quickly got excited and thinking about travelling and started pricing up how much it would cost to go to Iceland to see the Northern Lights and stay in an ice hotel. It all escalated pretty quickly but nonetheless that is something I would love to do so I hope that works out. I’m just rambling now so I will weesht.

Andrew.
