Sometimes even the most uninteresting days are special, like days spent wandering in the woods.
The weather in Scotland has been uncharacteristically amazing the last few weeks. Cloudy, showery days are long gone, replaced solely by the sun steadily roaming across the cloud free sky. These sunny days have left myself and Katy not knowing what to do with ourselves. We are not the most summery of people. Forever left running for the shade, trying to avoid turning beetroot with even the tiniest bit of sun.
However, we are forcing ourselves to get out and about. To make the most of the weather, to embrace it for what it is and try to enjoy it to it’s fullest. Even if that means we set off without a plan, This last weekend was no exception.
But that is the thing. We had no plans. We had nowhere to go. We could go anywhere and do anything we wanted too. What did we end up doing you ask? Well we went about ten minutes away from my house and wandered through some woods. Not the most interesting, I can hear your saying to yourself. But for us it was lovely. It was good to just get out and about. You don’t have to have everything planned out or have anywhere specific to go to have a good time. We just drove for a little while and jumped out the car.
I think if I were to leave the house without some sort of camera there would be something wrong. I documented our wander in the woods on my Instax 200. Not normally the camera I grab when I am heading out but that is exactly the reason I picked it up that weekend.
I could be anywhere doing anything with that girl and be happy. I hope the photos you can see above convey that in a meaningful sort of way. This is your glimpse into our lives, where the mundane and extraordinary go hand in hand.
