Today I thought I would try something a little different. This is something I have been thinking about doing for a while and if I am honest I don’t really know how it will work out. Over the past few years travelling is something I have grown to love. I have this passion and desire to go travelling, unfortunately the majority of my travels have taken place inside the country. Despite that, it is something I love. Travel is travel after all.
I have written about travel in the past and to accompany my incoherent ramblings I often include my disposable pictures. My love for them only grows as I look back, months or even years later at these photos. So for the past few weeks I have been trying to think of ways to include these pictures more here on my blog. The idea of ‘Travel Diaries’ was born. The concept is to share a photo or a series of photos every few weeks and give a little more information about them. You may have seem some of these photos in the past but one of the main aims of this project is to simply share. To show off these points and moments in my life no matter how insignificant they me be.
The first photo I would like to showcase in this series is the one you see above. This was taken on Friday the 31st of October 2014 after travelling down to Nottingham. I have written about my weekend in Nottingham before. That’s not special. Not just now anyway, now we are speaking about the photo. It is such an insignificant photo but I can’t help but love it. The two contrasting colours of the turquoise of the glass and the red of the beer cans really just makes the photo what it is. I don’t have an explanation to the photo, I was rather drunk when taking it, but I’m glad I did. It captured that moment of me trying to keep my beer cool in that warm stuffy hotel room. That’s one of the things I am trying to do with this project, trying to remember these otherwise forgetful moments and finding the beauty in everything.
