It’s been a slow week. Like a really slow week. The autumn weather really has been starting to roll in. Back to the bleak rainy Scottish weather, making the days shorter and greyer. I decided the only way to make this week even slightly better was to order some new clothes. I’ve got a lot of stuff coming up in the next few weeks, mainly birthdays and night outs. Then at the end of the month I’m off to Nottingham for the weekend. I’ve had a list in my head of a few things I would like to pick up beforehand so I thought it was a good idea to get started.
With working 9-5 five days a week I’ve come to the realisation I really need to expand my wardrobe. I have been confining what I wear to literally a handful of clothes. With most of my shirts too small for me now and the majority of my t-shirts washed out it was about time I ordered some new clothes. I’m usually a sucker for just waiting for the stuff I like to be on offer or in a sale. It’s really not a good way to do it. I must just be a tight bastard eh? At any rate I needed clothes, I’m sick of searching through my cupboard every morning for something decent to wear.
I’ve got a bad habit of buying shoes. I have a cupboard full of them. Yet I stick to the same two pairs. If I like something I don’t see the point in wearing anything else, I’m not really bothered if it goes with what I’m wearing. Who even cares?? I’ve wanted to get a pair of Nike Janoski’s for months and months now but I always end up just getting something else. I found these Black and Grey Janoski’s on ASOS for £60. I wasn’t really expecting to buy shoes but with my current work shoes nearly falling to bits I thought I was as well to. I really like the look of these and I’ve been really starting to like a lot more black shoes. I was always turned off them ever since I was a kid and being made to wear awful black school shoes. They are sort of the blur of Smart Casual so I think I will definitely be able to get a lot of use out of them.
I also picked up a few shirts. I wanted to get something that I would be able to wear to work but also to wear out. This Farah Vintage Gunnerside shirt was perfect. It is a slim fit dark blue shirt with a brightly coloured dandelion print? I’m not really sure what you’d call it but I like it. I picked this up from UrbanExcess for £18 down from £60. I’ve never bought anything from Farah before but I am really happy with the fit and the quality of this shirt. I will definitely be picking up more from them in the future. Back on ASOS again I found this checked/tartan Shirt with a Granddad collar. I bought this for £20 and wasn’t expecting much from it, just another shirt to wear to work. Although when I bought it I never realised it had a granddad collar. I’ve been looking at this style of shirt for the past few months now debating whether or not I would suit them. But after getting it delivered and trying it on im really happy with the fit and the feel of the shirt. I really like the look of the collar and it to be honest it just makes a change from what I usually wear.
Lastly I picked up just some Boxers and Socks. Nothing really that special about them, just underwear eh? I am surprised I spent £35 on Calvin Klein boxers though, my younger self would slap me for wasting money like that. To be honest I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about and to if they are any better than the shitty River Island ones I have been wearing.
That’s everything I have picked up in the last week. I have pretty much everything I wanted for the coming month/work in general. The only thing left that I need to get are jeans. They can wait until I next get paid though, there’s nothing wrong with wearing washed out black ones… right?
